Sustainability

Made to order, and in small batches. A large part of ANNABO is produced only after it is ordered, and the rest in limited runs. We do not produce stock in the hope that it sells, and we do not discount unsold collections into landfill.

Natural fibres. Linen, cotton, silk and wool — materials that age well, can be repaired, and return to the earth at the end of a long life, unlike synthetics.

Time, by hand. A single ANNABO garment takes two to three weeks to make — cutting, embroidery, hand seam techniques, sewing and finishing. The hand techniques alone — smocking, raised stitches, tassels — can take three to four days on one piece. Nothing about it is fast, and that is the point.

Made under our own eye. Small runs are cut and sewn in our own atelier in Bucha, Ukraine, by people the family knows by name. When an order is large, it is sewn at a verified partner factory — under the on-site supervision of our own specialist, to the same standard.

Made to be kept. The most sustainable garment is the one that is never thrown away. Ours are designed beyond a single season, finished to atelier standard, and accompanied by care guidance so they are worn for years — and can be handed down. Caring for a garment is part of keeping it: see our Care Instructions.

Honest limits. We are a small family atelier, not a certified sustainability programme. We publish what we do, plainly, and we improve it year by year.

For our partners. Small batches are our choice for our own retail line — not the limit of our production. Our own atelier sews small volumes; wholesale volumes are produced at a verified partner factory, where our own specialist supervises each run on site. From a single made-to-order garment to a full wholesale order, the standard does not change with the size of the order.
